Best Rattan Material for the Home

For interior design, Rattan has been incredibly popular over the years. Rattan is a plant fiber that is commonly found in Asia and is used to build furniture. It’s classic woven pattern with square openings have been a long-time favorite in resorts and hotels in those areas. Bringing the look back home, many “beach” resort hotels use rattan to give visitors a sense of being on an exotic vacation. You can also give your home a light, vacation-esque vibe with rattan! Here are some of our favorites:

Pendant Ceiling Light

Perfect for over kitchen islands, dining tables, or hung shorter for a wider hallway, this ceiling light will pair well with a warm light bulb. It’s hand woven and gives off a cozy, light-hearted vibe. It’s different from what has become more and more popular with dark, farmhouse chandeliers.

Auckland Rattan Chairs

This single chair is a great addition to any room or patio. It’s casual and light so it’s perfect decoration to add on top of an almost finished home without it taking the spotlight from other pieces or looking too heavy.

Acacia Wood Bar Stools

While this piece isn’t made from rattan, it’s a piece that will pair well with it. Honestly, it might go well with the pendant ceiling light! These bar stools match the wood and natural accents of rattan but offer a break in color and texture without diverging so much as to compete with the rattan.
