Two Story Renovation (After) (Part 3)

Hello and welcome to almonddale. I am so excited to show you this beautiful, beautiful home.

00:00:13

When we bought it, we didn't have big plans to do a a lot of really big things, that the biggest was going to be paint and countertops and renovating the master bathroom. But what started out as a mess up on an order turned into a beautiful blessing. And so it's the first thing you're going to see when you walk in here are these gorgeous, gorgeous floors. So there were these really pretty dark wood floors when we bought the house, and we were going to extend them into the kitchen, but we ended up, like I said, having to mess up with the order and so.

00:00:42

And we took all of the floors out and went a totally different direction. So come on in, let me show you this beautiful home and these gorgeous floors. It's just unbelievable. Hobbit in front of the lines all the way to the backyard in that beautiful pool. It's so light and airy and it feels very modern, but still has a traditional look and feel to it. We are just thrilled with how they came out. So it's really cool how a mistake can turn into a huge blessing.

00:01:12

So when you come into this gorgeous home, you've got an office here on your left, lots of beautiful natural lights and just a really great safe French doors. Just a wonderful place to use, however, really that you please, right? So it's just a lovely, lovely little room with really tall feelings all throughout the house.

00:01:35

And then on the other side of the foyer is the dining room that is to dive for. I just wanted to spend all of my time in here and in this room. It's the floors, the paint. And actually just the two Scots pictures. This chandelier was here and fit with our fancy farmhouse steel that we have going on. So we left it. And of course the beautiful staging just brings it all together. So come on down this hallway into her tremendous living room. I just cannot believe how this room turned out. The paint in this House was kind of a dark like tan color and.

00:02:15

So we brought it up, we painted it. You know, it's much, much lighter now. And the fireplace also had like a dark route in between the stone.

00:02:25

And so one of the biggest transformations just right here in this living room is that we whitewash the fireplace and then put a mantle on it to kind of again give it like a fancy farmhouse feel. And so the whitewash of the fireplace coupled with the painted wall really just made this entire room glow. It's so much brighter in here. You've got these double ceiling or tall ceilings, the windows, and then this beautiful wagon light that we installed and.

00:02:55

Sunny we're just so, so thrilled how this all space turned out and we're just walking here. It was just lovely and open and feeling bright at home.

00:03:13

This kitchen transformation is truly unbelievable. So we left the cabinets that were here when the house was built and just painted them so it was so much brighter. They were a dark brown wood and now they're just so light and bright. And then we added these gorgeous cabinet bowls. But here on the island we made a pretty big change. The island actually painted out further, so it's a little bit deeper of an island.

00:03:39

But then when these barstools are, it actually kind of swooped in and made like a curved shape and it just felt very awkward and it made the island actually feel really small. And So what we did was we kept the same footprint, the same island here, obviously changed out the countertops, but made it this is just one solid slab, so it is a quite large island. And then we just added this post over here so that it could be a really clean line of a rectangle.

00:04:08

And you still have these places to sit right here at the bar, but now it feels huge and this, this island feels fabulous. And now you're standing here at the sink doing all the things you can see the whole room. And we've got again these gorgeous fresh black fixtures. We've just led them. They have really made this whole house stand out and and brought everything together. So the appliances stayed, the footprint of the kitchen stayed. It was just paint, floors, countertops.

00:04:38

And all of these pools that really brought everything together. And then into this breakfast Nook. Again, the lighting, we replaced the lighting in both over the island and in this breakfast Nook and it's just so peaceful. Looked out to the beautiful pool and the outdoor kitchen and everything just feels so big and homey in here and very light and bright.

00:05:01

I like to call this our fancy farmhouse, just with those the black details within the very light, airy colors and finishes that we have going on in here. Welcome to this primary retreat. This bedroom is unbelievable.

00:05:30

When we bought this House, it had carpet as the flooring. And one of our things that we wanted to do was to bring the wood floors right in all the way in through this bedroom. It just makes everything feel very cohesive and really just so light and bright in here. You've got the beautiful view of the pool and the paint and the trim update just really makes this place. Leslie, we've got high ceilings in here.

00:05:56

And just lots of really great natural light. But the bathroom is where the biggest transformation happened in this home. So again, like I said in the beginning, the bathroom was our biggest thing that we were going to be changing until the floors ended up being a factor. We kept the vanities that were here. We changed the countertops, painted them again, did these beautiful brush black appliance, I'm sorry, poles and faucets and all the pictures.

00:06:25

But then we added this custom cabinet, so just to get some more storage. It was a very long vanity, which is wonderful, but this center space felt a little bit awkward. So we wanted to give it some purpose. And so we did that by adding this storage unit, I guess. But then in the shower, the shower actually was a little bit wider and it came out in kind of a Half Moon shape.

00:06:53

And it just felt very strange. And it wasn't even that big of a shower or didn't feel that big how let's just put it that way. And So what we did was we demoed the shower and and squared it off and actually brought it back a little bit, but it still feels larger. So we did new tiles around a custom knit, this gorgeous glass door, but that also allowed us to create a custom vanity space. This kitchen transformation is truly unbelievable. So we left the cabinets that were here when the house was built and just painted them so it was so much brighter. They were a dark brown wood and now they're just so light and bright. 00:07:19

So now in this bathroom, we've got these custom built cabinets again with the matching countertops, the same paint, the same finishes, but now we've got this beautiful vanity space with tons and tons of storage and it just really helps bring this, give this space purpose. It was just kind of a Dead Space. It was about 2 1/2 feet of Dead Space. And so we're actually able to really make everything very purposeful in here. And then back here we had a built in Jacuzzi tub.

00:07:49

And we took the tub out and did this gorgeous standalone tub. I just love this. It's so beautiful. And of course again, the same brush black finishes.

00:08:01

There already was this ledge built in naturally in the House, and so we just accented that by putting the title there. So now you've got a place to put your bath accessories and this bathroom is just so lovely. It feels so much bigger than it did when we bought the house. And then the light and brightness is just stunning.
